Marlene de Wilde - Marlene de Wilde

Marlene is Australian born and bred. After earning her BA in psychology and journalism from the University of Queensland, she backpacked around Europe (like Aussies do). After her stint as a barmaid in London and server of fast food in Kentucky Fried Chicken in Belfast, she waitressed in Crete where she met her Greek husband and stayed. An obligatory few years as a tour guide convinced her that this was not where her future lay so she began teaching English to Greek students.

However, this wasn't enough either so she took a course on writing for children and then another on proofreading and editing and thus launched her freelance career. Her non-fiction has been published in Stories for Children Magazine and she has had articles published by the SanMin Book Co. for students of EFL. Proofreading and editing for the Hellenic Centre for Marine Research in Crete and Chipamunka Publishing in the UK keep her busy.
